Mile 7: Not yet in from the cold

As the freezing fog cancelled flights out of London, and temperatures dipped towards zero, I was celebrating crossing the £2500 threshold of my fund-raising for Brain Research Trust with a bracing jog in Dulwich Park.run-in-the-coldBut as I ran, I thought through all the reasons why Brain Research deserve my (your) money; Alzheimer’s, Epilepsy, Strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Dystonia, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Ataxia, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Brain Tumours… Their work funds research that might start looking for one thing, and end solving something completely different. Like our own brain neurons –  they don’t work in straight lines and they may go round in circles to achieve something amazing. But their work is never done!

So today I realised that my fund-raising goal cannot be achieved yet…

We need to raise more! So for all your friends and family members who could have done with that that break-through piece of the science jigsaw that might just have made / will make the difference to their lives (and to your lives)…
